Fear ranks third in high jump?
FITCHBURG, Mass. ? The Wheaton College men's track and field team placed tenth overall out of 23 teams at the Eric Loeschner Memorial Meet, hosted by Fitchburg State University, on Saturday afternoon at Elliot Field.?
Tufts University finished first overall with 167 points, Worcester State University was second overall with 100.50 points and Bridgewater State University claimed third place honors with 94 points.?
Senior co-captain Sam Fear (Bath, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) cleared a height of six-feet and two-inches for third place overall in the high jump.?
Fear also teamed up with freshman co-captain Sam Miklovich (Gray New Gloucester, Maine/Gray New Gloucester), junior Christopher Panzini (Revere, Mass./Revere) and freshman James O'Laughlin (Boxborough, Mass./Parker Charter School) in the 4x100-meter relay for an 11th place finish with a time of 47.87-seconds.?
O'Laughlin also ranked 34th overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.94. Miklovich came in 39th place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.46-seconds and 41st overall in the 200-meter dash in 25.75-seconds. Panzini placed 39th overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.39-seconds.?
Sophomore Ben Sharma (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) posted a fifth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.57-seconds. Sharma also ranked sixth overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.44.?
Wheaton's 4x800-meter relay team consisting of sophomores John Green (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy), Harry Bachrach (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Beaver Country Day) and Nathan Sheridan (Albuquerque, N.M./Desert Academy) and freshman Alexei Spinu (New Cannon, Mass./New Cannon) turned in a second place finish with a time of 8:17.84.?
In the 1,500-meter run, senior Michael Richard (Chicopee, Mass./Holyoke Catholic) crossed the finish line in 4:24.24 for 16th place overall. Freshman Jonathan Sproule (Trenton, Maine/Mount Desert Island) was 20th overall with a time of 4:26.64.?
Junior Logan Hinderliter (Allegheny, Pa./Allegheny) recorded a mark of 36-feet and 2.25-inches in the shot put for 14th place overall. Hinderliter also placed 20th overall in the hammer throw with a heave of 94-feet and nine-inches.?
Freshman Connor Bourgoin (Winslow, Maine/Winslow) clocked a time of 18:29.82 for 17th place overall in the 5,000-meter run.
Next up for Wheaton is the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Saturday, April 27, hosted by Springfield College, at 11 a.m.
