Beginning Wednesday, family members of active duty personnel stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will have expanded access to health care with the opening of an army community-based primary clinic in Olympia, according to a news release issued from JBLM.
The Madigan-South Sound Community Medical Home is the second of two clinics that the army will operate locally.
"These clinics allow us to provide safe, quality health care closer to where our patients live," said Col. Dallas Homas, Madigan Army Medical Center commander. "We're excited to be able to expand the quality health care our families currently receive at Madigan to these nearby clinics."
The clinics are leased space and staffed with civilian employees. The clinic is expected to provide patient care to more than 8,000 active duty family members.
The clinic will open at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at 500 Lilly Road NE, Suite 120.
